A Personal Heaven (Lisa Bueckert)

Heaven will be far greater than anything any of us can imagine.

However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived” — the things God has prepared for those who love him— (1 Corinthians 2:9 NIV)

I know that I have a good vivid imagination so that tells me that my heaven will be so wonderful and glorious that my mind couldn’t even come up with how impressive it will be.

We all want to be reunited with loved ones that have gone on before us and yes I do too. That is a sure promise from God. I have my Mister Jesse there and I can’t wait to see him and laugh with him again. I also have a sweet little baby there that I never got to meet here. I can’t wait to cuddle and kiss him on that day.

Once we have reunited with our special loved ones and walked with Jesus I think we will be in awe of the realm of Heaven itself. We may need to stand in one spot and stare and listen and take it all in.

I think of heaven for Jesse all the time. I know what he loved and of his adventurous spirit. He was an explorer and a discoverer. I’m sure there are new places of great mystery and excitement for him to explore every day. I also believe he has a new grand tree he can climb at any given time.

He loved ‘Toy Story’ the movie. He especially loved Buzz and Woody. Who says he doesn’t get to explore heaven with a  walking, talking Buzz and Woody by his side? That would be something Jesse would just love and heaven is about God’s great love for all of us. Heaven is a place God has for all of us to have our greatest joys!

My youngest daughter just turned 13 and she reads a lot of books. We talk about heaven and Jesse in heaven. You may have seen some of her artwork here. She did the picture of Jesse in heaven for Peter and Anna for Christmas.

She has a favorite book mark that I notice she uses all the time. On it is a picture of Jesus walking with a group of children. Also walking with them is a huge lion. I know that she loves the thought of walking along with such an animal and having no reason to fear it. We talked recently about heaven for her and I said I think she’ll be able to have any pet she wishes. She smiled at the thought because she reads lots of books in which there are dragons that are good. She would love a dragon as a pet! A dragon and an enormous tiger!

Why not? It’s heaven right?

My heaven will have such majestic scenery! Huge open fields filled with tall grasses and wild flowers blowing in a warm breeze. I will be able to walk through the field with my hands touching the tops of the flowers. I will have a perfect camera and will take perfect pictures to capture all the glory! My house will be filled with huge pictures on huge walls where there is always space for more. Jesus will come by and look at them with me.

There will be wondrous mountains and beautiful valleys too. Of course there will be a great blue ocean where I can sit on the warm clean sand and feel the perfect sun. I will listen and watch the waves come in and finally have no worries to hinder the beauty.

Oh, there will be lots of baby puppies for me to hold close and smell. I love baby puppies.

All of this may or may not be what it is but it does say better than we can imagine.

About Peter Wiebe

.My name is Peter Wiebe. I am a husband and father of 4 boys-the oldest of which has gone ahead of us to Heaven after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 10. As the name of this blog implies, I desire to write stories about heroes. Jesse loved hero stories, and I would love nothing more than to write stories that I think he would want to read. Hero stories , whether real or fictional, can inspire us to live more nobly in our own daily lives. Plus, I am personally grieved at how many heroes in books and film today are portrayed as many different shades of gray-no moral compass. I am not advocating heroes without flaws, but heroes who recognize their flaws and acknowledge and work on overcoming them. I think of the great Bible heroes like David, Sampson, and Joshua just to name a few. I think also of the Hero of heroes, who indeed has no flaws. Jesus is the ultimate inspiration for us all. The best qualities of any hero always point to Him. Peter Wiebe 2013
